INSTRUCTIONS to CLAIMANTS for MONETARY REWARDS by the ROYAL HUMANE SOCIETY setting forth the particulars of the case of H. S. Bei 492 who risked his own life in rescuing Pan We Sin from being drowned, at Victoria Harbour on the 18 September 1960.
Monetary Rewards are limited to Cases only which occur in or near the waters of Hong Kong.
1. Name, Address, Age, Occupation of the Claimant.
Herbert Stanley Bevan aged 33, Assistant & Mis Lane Cloward plo, Outfitters Hong Kong.
2. Name, Address, Age, Occupation of the Person saved.
Pan We Sin, aged 27, Crosie, N.D. Lloyd By, Hong Kong.
3. Time of Day, Date & Place at which the accident occurred, Depth of water, and other particulars.
About 9.30, Off Blake Pier, Victoria Harbour during the typhoon of 18 September 1960. Depth of water about 28 feet.
4. State precisely the nature of the exertions used and risk incurred in saving the Person.

5. How long was the actual time of immersion of the Person saved, and the state of the body when first rescued?

6. Who was sent for; what was done, and what kind of treatment was afforded?

7. Where was the Patient taken to? If to a Public House, a Certificate of the Medical Attendant, verified also by the Medical Officer, should be attached, and state whether medical assistance was afforded.
This Paper to be accompanied by Certificates of one or more eye-witnesses, who should add their Profession or trade after Signature, and state fully, in their own hand-writing, the precise nature of the Claimant's exertions, showing actual risk to the Claimant incurred.
